Wow… where has the year 2018 gone? I guess time flies when you are having fun… Good News the fun isn’t over yet!!!
Come join us for a End of year celebration ‘LIFE OF THE PARTY’ at the
Suya Joint
185 Dudley St,
Roxbury, MA
9pm – 2am
Firstly, if you have been following us this year online or offline, supporting us with donations, volunteering your time, contributing to our discussions and celebrating our successes and criticizing our shortcomings… we want to say a sincere thank you for the support. The Afrimerican Culture Initiative Inc. turns 3 years old this December and we want you there to celebrate with us.
Secondly, we want to thank our advisory board, volunteers, guest speakers, culture guides, the Harvard Medical School Personal Genetics Project, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The African Festival of Boston, Afrobeatdance Boston, Suya Joint, The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, The Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, the Boston Chamber of Commerce, the West African Research Association, Boston University Spark program, ‘Lives in Me’ participants and all who have been there to push our mission into the fore front of progressive community conversation in Boston. If I have forgotten to mention anyone, please attribute the omission to my aging brain.
Yes !!! that’s right!!! we have achieved so much this year from being featured in the Wall Street Jjournal to executing numerous community workshops around Boston to giving one of our own Michelle Turner Young the gift of knowledge of oneself. We crowned our first ‘Lives in Me’ DNa test competition winner, who is now a proud member of the diaspora Bamileke of Cameroon.
Lastly, we would like to invite you to one last blog meeting to discuss our latest blog ‘Life of the Party’ which begins at 9pm . From 1030 pm our blog meeting/fundraiser dinner ends and our party with DJ Yaki begins. Admission is free but we do ask you to make a donation through our eventbrite to help further our cause. All proceeds from food and drink purchases during this the event will go towards our programming. Kindly note all donations are tax deductible.
So please spread the word, bring your friends and lets eat and drink in celebration of life , our culture and the unification of Africa and African diaspora.
