Immigrants’ Day at the State House 2019

March 4, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

For the 23rd year in a row, we’re making our voices heard at the State House! Join us for Immigrants’ Day, the biggest lobbying day of the year for immigrants, refugees and allies. Let’s fill those halls with new Americans and allies ready to share our stories and tell legislators why 2019-2020 is such a crucial session!

Top on our agenda is the Safe Communities Act, which is essential to restoring community trust in law enforcement, ensuring that ALL Massachusetts residents feel safe calling 911, and protecting everyone’s civil rights. We will also be supporting legislation to make driver’s licenses available to ALL qualified drivers in our Commonwealth, and to ensure that ALL kids have the health care coverage they need.

And as always, we’ll be stressing the importance of key investments in immigrant integration, especially English classes for adults, specialized job training to enable immigrant workers to fully realize their economic potential, and support for citizenship programs. New U.S. citizens, English classes and refugee groups especially welcome!

We’ll post details on the speaking program (11am-noon) shortly, but our TOP PRIORITY by far is to get you scheduled for appointments with your legislators! Meetings can be scheduled individually, or for the biggest impact (and to make it easier), we strongly encourage you to book group meetings with individual legislators or with the delegation from a specific city or region (e.g. Framingham, Merrimack Valley, etc.).
