AD Net: “The Diaspora and the Digital Economy”

April 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

African Diaspora needs to be prepared for the growing digital economy

Technology is driving change and socio-economic progress in the world and digital revolution has become a common theme in various economic platforms. Think of mobile money and other business transaction and banking systems, including wire transfers that the diaspora makes to send remittances to families in their home countries.

One of the challenges for Africans in the diaspora is creating businesses that are sustainable and competitive in this digital economy. Often times, this is attributed to our limited exposure to current digital applications that could reduce the financial burden of effective business transactions.

Technology can be intimidating, yet it is important to acknowledge that to survive in this digital economy, we must take the initiative to embrace it, through attending different presentations that create awareness of how best we can apply the technology and make it an enabler for our economic growth.

Africans in Boston, www.africansinboston.org, is providing Africans in Massachusetts the opportunity to attend an ADnet event featuring two African technology innovators who will be sharing more about “The diaspora in the Digital Economy”.
